Your mind doesn't start slipping that much. Boomers cannot process a reality where everyone is not white. They all grew up in an era where essentially everyone was white and shit like this never happened.
All of those emails you get at work warning you about phishing emails???? It's because baby boomers are completely naive when it comes to computers. They had zero interest in learning it while they were still young. Computers as we think about them today have been available since 1995. They did not really start using them until maybe the mid 2000's with Facebook coming out and online shopping becoming easy.
For the boomers that used computers professionally at work, they don't know anything about them. Word, Excel, some enterprise system to record sales. That's all they know. If anything went wrong with the computer, they would turn to IT and a younger Gen X or Gen Y guy would fix it.
Combine all of this and you have a generation that is incredibly easy to scam.
