Uninstall facebook's app... that's at least one of the ones that is listening in.
Also not alot of people realize this but facebook/google/etc tracks you ALOT more then you realize, even if you are accessing sites directly. Most sites are running google analytics, which is loaded from google's domains so a cookie is already set in your browser. Similar situation with facebook - any site that has a "like counter" or "share on facebook" button, that button is loaded from facebooks domain via javascript and again, if you have a cookie on facebooks' domain already they know the content you are looking at.
This can be avoided by running private browser window all the time. You can change the icon to launch google chrome in incognito mode at startup. It's a bit of a pain in the ass having to login to sites every time but this is the world we live in...
Even this site is loading a font from google... https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Inter:ital,opsz,wght@0,14..32,100..900;1,14..32,100..900&family=Poppins:wght@600&family=Roboto+Flex:opsz,wght@8..144,100..1000&display=swap - so google sees the referring URL and knows what you are viewing thanks to cookies.
I've seen it happen in person. My mom has no interest in cars, has never expressed any, does not interact online with anything relating to it. Some years ago in idle conversation I brought up [this](https://engineerine.com/wp-content/webp-express/webp-images/uploads/2025/01/mercedes-benz-intelligent-light-system-more-visibility-cow.jpg.webp) Mercedes-Benz ad. 30 seconds later she saw it.
