In a way it *is* a suicide. You just don't kill the body. Only the fetters in the mind.
In Theosophy, a phrase that has really stuck with me is "lose the life to find it." El_hoovy already said a slightly different version of the same thing.
I really believe that a lot of us who didn't get to live materialistic lives and fuck around as much as we would've liked will have opportunities to do much more meaningful work in the next life.
