Lye can boil water if dissolved too fast as well. Add lye to water slowly with stirring, not the other way around, if memory serves.
Acid base reaction do generally generate heat but a little bit of research would give you a good approximation of amount of lye needed per pound of...roadkill so very little acid should be needed afterward if at all. Just use cleaning vinegar or the nice red drain cleaner added slowly.
Look into stuff, people. There is a lot of info on the safety and preparation of lye solutions to make soap and other shit. Don't do anything off of a single online comment and stay safe.
