The founders of Apple, Google, and Amazon had rich and well connected parents.

There were so many businesses built in California by jewish immigrants with only the clothes on their back, a few shekels in their pocket and lots of gumption... (They actually had wealth and connections from generation grifts)

I see similarities here.

Pretty much the only one that had SOME "botstraps" was Steve Jobs, and even he lived in a well-off area of California, both his biological grandparents and adoptive grandparents were of higher means, and he was employed by Hewlett-Packard by 13.

Steve Jobs's grandfather was a Syrian business mogul and his mother's parents ran a successful mink farm in Wisconsin. His grandparent's disapproved of the ixed heritage relationship so his mother traveled to San Francisco to give birth and enter her son into a closed adoption, where he was adopted by the son of wealthy dairy farmers from Wisconsin. While his adoptive parents were not themselves wealthy, they were able to raise Steve in Los Altos in the Cuertino school district, which gave him convenient access to Silicon Valley. By 13 he was employed by Hewlett-Packard.

I actually did not know that thanks for telling me. How does Steve Jobs compare to someone like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Also what's your opinion on Steve Wozniak.
