The purpose of advertisements is normalization and recognition. When used "properly", it only brainwashes people to recognize products. Additional familiarity leads people to be more likely to buy that product over others - it's a somewhat subconscious effect.
When used "maliciously", it provides ideas, imagery, ideologies and seeks to normalize them. Because they become more familiar, it's meant to reduce the opposition to them. Haven't you seen a nigger and White girl before? Well, now you have. Now it's no longer novel, it's no longer shocking. And if you've seen it often enough, it's no longer unusual even. So even if you hate it, how bad can it be? Isn't it just a "dislike" or "disapproval" at this point?
Obviously all uses of advertisements are manipulative. They are based on messing with one's consciousness. Which is why you shouldn't consider their manipulation at the stage you are in, because you are already deep within the stages of manipulation. You shout from the abyss about how bad it is.
Leave that abyss, see it for what it is. And it deserves mass-hangings.
