Why would a perfectly fine body part need to be chopped off? If it wasnt necessary it would not exist. How did humans survive for hundreds of thousands if years before rabbi came?
It protects the penis head which is supposed to be very sensitive. All living beings have their penis sheated one way or another. Because it must be protected.
