I've heard c-section is necessary if the baby isn't in the correct position after a certain time, it seems a bit ridiculous to me but I don't know shit so I wanted to clear that up. Also why do they do them more than a week before the due date?

If you do this she won’t be able to have more than two kids. My wife got the baby into the right position via acupuncture. The others got into the correct position once labor started. Don’t let them talk you into this. It’s a huge mistake you will regret. Get a midwife. Watch “the business of being born”. And do an unmedicated birth, if at all possible at home. The pain goes up
