Lmao, OP is fucking retarded if this story is even real. Let's say his shift is 9 hours plus a 1 hour lunch. He implies that he's working fulltime but let's just assume he's working 4 days per week so no overtime, just a straight 36 hours. The federal minimum wage is $7.25, so he's getting paid AT LEAST $261 per week, but extremely likely more. At that pay rate he's basically paying zero income tax. He still lives at home, and his only listed expense is gas. He says he has a 45 minute drive to work, so let's assume he fills his gas tank once a week. To fill a 14 gallon tank at the current national average gas price would cost about $40. That leaves him with a little more than $200 per week, or a little more than $10,000 per year. He says he's 27, so let's assume he's been doing this since he was 18. He should have stacked $90,000 in the bank by now, and likely a lot more, because no one works for minimum wage anymore. With realistic pay rates, he could have actually saved up enough to buy a house outright by now.
