Christ said the only irredeemable sin is to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that you denounce Christianity–the inversion of the requirements of salvation. It only makes sense that a society that wants to keep existing would protect itself against those who do so.

But notice the very specific language.

Meaning *jews would be fine*, because they weren’t educated in or professing of Christianity. This law applies only to people *raised* Christian who denounce Christianity.

Yep, but the Indios weren’t really considered in any American lawmaking or social concerns at the time. They’re not in the census because they weren’t citizens and it was unfathomable to consider them thus (same with niggers, except for the 3/5 consideration of property, which the whole North hated… because it considered them 3/5 more of a person than everyone in the North knew they were)

The only reason for that compromise was because the population density in the North meant that without it the South would never have a say in how the federal government operated.
