The buff conservative space men are routinely portrayed as retarded jackasses sabotaging themselves and each other and the mission by being idiots. They are looking for their lost father figure yet when they look at depictions of him they hear what they want to hear.
Hatemonger is portrayed as hilariously weird and lame for knowing unconvincing racist alien related statistics like "1 in 4 aliens come from motherless homes, perhaps something is wrong with them". More convincing statistics like 13-50 are repeated later without context by robots as a sign their AI learned from Hatemonger, revealing he's still alive.
It routinely portrays the space empire as a bunch of dipshits who prioritize stupid shit over actually finding Space King. It even portrays killing aliens as a bad thing. One time someone invents female Space Marines and the rest abandon their allies and their chances of finding Space King to go to that planet and blow ot up because women cannot be space marines. Funny and based, but played for laughs, like we're morons who prioritize sexism and racism over more important things like brotherhood and finding Space King.
It's like a show that wants conservatives to go "haha yeah fuck them gross weirdo aliens" and wants liberals to go "haha yeah fuck them white boys in adult male bodies" even though liberals would obviously be turned off by men saying words like retarded and gay without getting abused by some catty Karen whore in HR.
And even though the conservative nazi spacemen are the obvious targets of mockery while the aliens and mutants and robots they persecute pointlessly are painted as adorable helpless tragic victims. Even the weirdo exiled for wanting to fuck aliens is played as a harmless joke instead of something genuinely disgusting bringing alien diseases and corruption wherever he goes.
The marketing really leans in on the idea that this is "sticking it to the man! By the spergs for the spergs! Refusing to let Hollywood or Netflix buy us and make us gay! Proving cartoons can exist that aren't made by fake gay Hollywood for mentally ill women! We mentally ill men can have fun too!" In their own words. "Come on, conservatives, support us financially as we depict you as silly impotent inept space manchildren who suck cock and always fail!"

I don't think the authors are secretly liberals. Liberals are abusive power, and they want to be edgy animators so they hate abusive power. But they don't have concrete ideological depth beyond hating that and wanting to be seen as cool edgy rebels, and their idea of comedy was so shaped by shows like South Park and Family Guy and Rick And Morty saying "Christ sucks and Christians are gay and lame" they don't see it.
Back when they made the "Space Marines kill furries" series, the furries were portrayed as an evil disgusting existential threat that must be annihilated before it spreads and consumes and ruins more. That series was more based.
