Being every business, their seems to be a happy merchant rubbings its hands. I recently gave up caffeine and have went down the rabbit hole on this powerful drug that we take daily.

Just like a certain tribe owning the slave ships, dating sites, and universities, I was wondering if anyone had gravy about them pulling tricks in the caffeine field. It's not exactly easy to get information from A.I.

If you do caffeine daily, you probably will scoff, but I have a theory that it is worse than cigarettes to ingest daily. There is some good information to support that but hard to find.

I know there have been studies showing beneficial effects from several of the compounds in coffee, but when I was in the habit of drinking it every morning, I was also tired all the time, except when I was consuming coffee. YMMV, but I'm definitely better off without that habit.

Occasional coffee doesn't seem to have a negative effect like that, nor does regularly drinking tea. Just the same, I'm working towards shifting to decaf tea.

Every time I think of studies touting health benefits, I think of studies saying the same for masturbation and circumcision. My suspicious is that the studies are kosher .

There's a reason for this, and it's not so much the coffee as when you drink it. Aside from the general stimulation, caffeine also blocks the uptake of certain sleep hormones. So if you're drinking it first thing every morning, you feel more awake, but the residual hormones stay in your bloodstream until the caffeine wears off. Then you feel tired again until it's cleared out. The solution is to wait until you've had some sunlight, or just have it late morning or with lunch. That way you don't have the hormones hanging around until long after they should be gone.
