elitism has become a dirty word but there's something to how a lot of struggles in the past have been masses going behind royalty or aristocrats...
it's more the "privileged" who have the leisure to daydream about revolutions while workers are more focused on living decently and middle class people on living a little better
at least I recall reading an article to this extent
I guess the question for a person of the masses then is which aristocrat or royalty to trust and get behind, while aristocrats / royalty have the difficulty of trying to sort out which religion or revolution they back
