All the real talent from this industry left long ago, and are now doing solo endeavors and side projects. This is why *Witchfire*, a game developed by 12 people, is superior to any "AAA", DEI, $250,000,000 pissreal title that has come out in the last 5-10 years.

I have no doubt a huge core of modders are old guard gamer nerds from back in the mid 90's and early 2000's, or disgruntled industry veterans that just do it as a hobby.
