I watched a video recently where someone expressed shock and horror that Campbell's soup is putting (gasp) genetically engineered organisms into its cans of soup!

Oh no the travesty!

Alright, back to seriousness.

POINT 1: "Genetically modified" "genetically engineered" etc are meaningless terms. Humans have been tinkering with breeding and such since the before history. It's how we got our crops and animals we can't live without anymore. A better question is to ask what they mean when they say "genetically modified". You NEED to understand what THEY mean by this so you can distinguish what they are doing vs. what humanity has been doing since forever. IT IS IMPORTANT.

POINT 2: Once you understand WHAT they are doing, you need to know WHY they are doing. To wit: The vast majority of genetic engineering is geared towards making crops that can survive lethal chemicals that literally kill the earth and make it barren. This is modern farming: (1) KILL EVERYTHING. (2) Plant a GMO crop. (3) Spray with even more chemicals (4) wonder where all the profit margin went as the farm equipment companies, chemical companies and the seed companies laugh all the way to the bank.

POINT 3: The REAL reason why GMO is dangerous is not because of the G, M or O. It's because of what they do with GMO crops and such. It's dangerous because they practically bathe these plants and seeds in chemicals and then they feed these chemicals to you. Chemicals that either existed in tiny amounts inside of tiny bacteria or were invented by mankind and never seen before by the world. Chemicals that we barely understand how they work, or all too often, understand that they are extremely dangerous in more ways than one but try to hide the danger from the public.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED. They want you talking about the genetic modifications. They do NOT want you talking about how they are literally destroying our farmland thousands of acres at a time, turning productive, LIVING soil into DEAD DIRT. They do NOT want you talking about how their chemicals are poisoning us, our kids, and the planet.

SOLUTION: STOP BUYING YOUR FOOD FROM THE STORES. Go direct to farmers who either completely stop using chemicals or who are using a minimal amount. A good start is to research "Regenerative Agriculture" and see what people are doing there. Once you find a farm that is doing that sort of thing, you need to buy your food direct from them.

Now, I know that they are charging a premium and I know that delivery is more than half the cost. If you're lucky you'll find someone close to you that isn't charging an arm and a leg. It requires you to do the searching, of course. And you'll have to verify for yourself with farm tours and such.

YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO FIND A SOLUTION IN THE SUPERMARKET. YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO FIND A NATIONAL BRAND THAT IS HONEST. Just get settled with this fact and go say "hi" to local farmers.

It wasn't so long ago that people were spending a significant portion of their income on groceries and such. We got used to cheap food that is instantly available. We have to wean ourselves off of this lifestyle. You are going to have to spend more of your paycheck on food and that means you are going to have to make cuts elsewhere for it.

it was also because they wanted to patent the GMOs and sue any farmers trying to farm without them, including farmers who lived next door to farms using GMOs where the GMOs cross-pollinated with their non-GMO crops

i.e. another way to try to control food supply

It's almost like there's a group of people that value money above all else.

Maybe we should consider such people as unwelcome in our society?

The biggest supporters of the current USDA system are Republicans. Also food stamps and SNAP/EBT are funded by Republicans via the USDA. Big AG/Farm Bills they call it.

No, it's the uniparty.

RFK Jr is making big waves but he is being attacked from all sides.

> Also food stamps and SNAP/EBT are funded by Republicans via the USDA.

The uniparty again.

> Big AG/Farm Bills they call it.

The farm bill gives people money not to farm. It's probably better not to farm than to spray your fields with herbicide.

Good post and good way of looking at it.

People are distracted by the food itself and its health, but forget that thousands of acres of farmland is getting destroyed so that nothing but GMO seeds grow there and the dirt becomes bad because the weeds and other eco-system life that is normally there is wiped out.

In this case, if you buy "fresh" food at the supermarket, it's not the DNA that will harm you, it's the chemicals that are on the food. Those chemicals are only on the food because the food was engineered to survive in those conditions. Heritage crops would die.

Genetically Modified is NOT the same as Selective Breeding. Like with everything SCOPE and SCALE

Selective Breeding is choosing different mating pairs for certain traits over and over again for sometimes thousands of years. Very slow and dispersed changing of genetics. Every tiny change is "tested" in the wild

GMO is making large jumps in the genetic code in a lab and then releasing it into the wild.

BINGO

We have been modifying the genetic profile of our crops and animals since forever. We have used breeding and such to do so.

Every breeder knows that you can go too far in one direction.

Modern breeding + chemical warfare is leading to some bad results, but at least we're able to work our way out of it because we really didn't make that many changes. IE, sheep are notoriously susceptible to parasites even with the most advanced regimen of treatments. So people are now turning to "older" breeds that aren't as productive but are resistant to parasites to move off of their chemical dependency. But you can't go back to basics with GMO crops. The changes were too big too fast.

We really need a better term for lab-modified genes. I suspect the companies making GMO slop selected that term for their products because it's easily conflated with selective breeding.

And if your market specifically advertises they source meat from local farmers, am I to expect they're lying?

I don't agree with the notion that supermarkets are the lynchpin for blame here.

> You are going to have to spend more of your paycheck on food and that means you are going to have to make cuts elsewhere for it.

LMAO! How much more!? Everyone is already scrambling by and you want them to pay more for their already record high groceries?

How about we just get rid of the jews? Keep naming, keep pushing, keep advocating.

See, without the 33 billion sent to pissrael, our groceries would be as cheap as in the 70's. Likewise, our pay would go up and the dollar would instantly jump in strength again.

And also likewise, gay jewish poison wouldn't be allowed near our food. We go back to crop rotation and soil seeding like how our ancestors did it.

I get what you're trying to say, and I agree with the notion of community building by engaging with your local producers. I also get the gist that you're trying to champion ideas that our under our control, that we can touch with our own two hands.

I just disagree about the target vector.

> am I to expect they're lying?

YES

You can't even trust the farmers, really. You need to do your own homework.

> Everyone is already scrambling by and you want them to pay more for their already record high groceries?

YES

You should be spending a lot more of your paycheck on food. Housing costs have risen in large part because people have more money available for housing. Entertainment costs as well. People are spending more money on those things because they are spending less money on food.

> How about we just get rid of the jews?

Go back in history, and remember that we were most active in getting rid of the jews when they get exposed for poisoning our food supply. THIS IS WHAT THIS POST IS ABOUT. You need to understand HOW they are poisoning us so that you can convince people.

> We go back to crop rotation and soil seeding like how our ancestors did it.

Not just that. It wasn't so long ago that you would go to your local grocer and they would be stocked almost entirely with locally grown foods. There were some things that were imported -- spices, rare ingredients, etc -- but the vast majority of the food was grown by your neighbors.

Go back before that and you would show up on market day in the town square where all the local farmers would sell their goods. If you needed something in between, or in bulk, you could contact the farmers yourself to make arrangements for pick up or delivery.

The supermarket is an anomaly and needs to be destroyed if we are going to get back to sanity. The cost savings are not worth it.

I like Koala Tea Poasts like this. It's why I come here.

There's so much in our ModErN WeRLd that is if taken at face valu, on its own, or in context as it used to be, it is harmless or helpful. However, when taken in context with how our society is today, it is always faked and gayed and turned into some kind of subversion element.

This whole rant is a bunch of uneducated nonsense.

GMOs are bad for those who consume them, but the reasons given here are just fucking retarded.

You've got so much confusion and misinformation going on here, it would take me an hour to correct all your bullshit. Considering your retarded shitpost will be viewed by about 11 people, it isn't worth my time.

Anybody who thinks selective breeding is the same as genetic modification is a retard.

Selective breeding modifies genetic code. It is a fact.

Find one thing and pick on that. Stop acting like a jew.

Do some actual research and educate yourself. Stop acting like a retarded child. Your uneducated opinions are not facts.

I've done countless hours of research into this topic. GMIs are horrible for us and for our environment, but for none of the reasons you've given. You have no idea wtf you're talking about.
