By changing it to the Liberty you have confirmed his suspicions.
My guess is thay he will now do everything in his power to make your fail. He'll kevetch to his academic partners there and it will get escalated quietly and it will become known that youre aware of the JQ. He'll claim to be attacked because victimhood is currency in academic circles.
