Everyone will tell you racism is bad, but no one will tell you why. "Muh systemic oppression" is my dog oppressed because I don't let it eat at the table? Or is it just that the dog is different enough that it doesn't understand higher concepts of hygiene and orderliness that comes along with sitting at the table?

Such it is with racism. I'm sure somewhere out there is a domesticated beast that can dine at the table with its companions in an orderly way (and it's probably a bear in Russia), but by and large we keep the animals where they belong and don't get delusions about them being the same as us. If racism is wrong, then specie-ism is wrong by extension.

Treating different things differently isn't wrong.
