Reminds me of the story of israeI where Palestinians opened their hearts and doors to welcome zionist POWs from Europe.

Palestinian families welcomed the zionists with gifts of clothing, shelter and shared meals with them.

Then one day, the Palestinian families returned home and the locks on their homes were changed and IDF troops were inside.

The zionists gave their saviors a choice: stay and we will murder you all and steal your home or leave and we will steal your home.

There's plenty of testimony of Palestinian families who went somewhere, like to visit family members somewhere else, came back and found that the Jews took their home.
