Fun fact: when Jackson stepped out of the Capitol that day and saw someone pointing a pistol at him, Old Hickory's first reaction was to charge at the threat. The pistol misfired, a 2nd was drawn and misfired, then the assassin got his ass beat by an angry 67 year old. Jackson later credited divine intervention for the two misfires.
