How about hyper-sensitivity?

People chose decorations that are as bland as possible so that no one can criticize them. If you're using colour you have to worry about complementing other colours, furniture that matches, personal preference of guests, etc. If you mess up, people will comment and your feelings get hurt.

Greyscale means that no one is either impressed or disappointed; everything fades into the background.

My honest perspective: Everything I see and experience is turned up to 11. The internet, the sounds and sights are ridiculous.

I want a break from it all. I want to rest my senses when I turn off my phone and TV.

You may well be onto something there. All the colorful architecture precedes the era of chronic blue light overdose.

Gen Z doesn’t even drive. I wonder what road pirates will do once all the boomers retire, and drive less? I guess gen X and millennials will get fucked harder. Lol

The last time I got pulled over, I was threatened by the police officer that he was going to release his dog on me. I drove into a speed trap and I was pissed about it. Apparently I scared the officer so much that Kujo was coming out to play if I didn't comply. Cops really don't like when you can maintain eye contact with them and speak without fear in your voice.

Yup. If you’re a white man who shows them no fear(respect in their eyes), more times than not, you’re gonna have a bad time. They have to take it out on you since they can’t treat the shitskins the way they deserve to be treated more times than not.

Can’t afford colors like that without a subscription fee.

He has a point to a degree I've certainly noticed the trend. But I don't think you can say more colorful is default better. Gaudy is gaudy and reeks of low iq poor or limited option aka you are poor because you can't make your shit match. When everything is more uniform or has colors that match or has similar aestheric then that says those choices were intentional, thoughtful even by someone that's thinking about either purpose or minimalism.

Like an apple store with the big wooden butcherblock tables and just the products. Not a lot of placards and extra shelving.

If you're in a home and it's not your forever home, neutral pallet will attract more buyers because they see it as a "ready to go" blank canvas for themselves. People get emotional about color choices and the wrong room color can turn a potential bidding war into low or no offers.

Also light colors make small spaces seem larger so there's that aspect too.

One thing that's not going gray are people's clothes. I see many in brightly colored ill fitting clothes. Well dressed and smart men wear simple clothing that fits with not too many jaring colors. If you are over 12 and wear high vis clothing just for fun youre probably poor and have low class taste.

It's an urban legend that red cards are more likely to be pulled over. It might even be true. This may account for the decline in the use of that color.

Whatever the term is, I see it as to further sink our creative and powerful minds into degenerate zombie-like state that is automatic and easy to control. The same is to be seen with “architecture”.

wallpaper might make a comeback. I know a couple that spent $3000 for their bedroom to be wallpapered and that was just for one day's labor. the wallpaper itself was extra.

I believe it correlates with the West's apathetic and individualistic outlook on life which began its stranglehold after 9/11. Personally, I don't want to stand out *at all* when I'm in public. I live in the city and there are too many spics and niggers who can and have harassed me with impunity when they notice me. Everyone subconsciously knows the problem with standing out today. Thats why this effect is amplified in more urban environments - in every big city, you may have noticed that everyone only ever wears black clothing. It's an adaptation against the effects of Jewish control and demoralization.

It's the same smug 5'7" Redditoid saying "um sweaty you live in the city, its your fault
that the local niggers broke your car window, you should have parked it on the moon" that follows these rules to keep himself safe. He knows deep down inside the truth, but he will never admit it. He'd prefer to treat the symptoms than to fix the cause, because he is a slave afraid of being alone. He would unironically rather you and your family be murdered by spics than to change his mind.

In the West today, the best thing money can buy is being left alone.
