It is a test of faith. Ask yourself will St Peter or the apostles do any of this evil things? We are at war and satan is dragging as many souls to hell with him.
God gives us the Popes we deserve. I happen to believe that the Post V2 Popes are in fact legitimate, there just a sign that God is not too happy with the average Catholic living a very worldly life and being completely ignorant of even the basics of his religion. Considering how many self-proclaimed "Catholics" are openly supporting things completely contrary to the faith, and even crying out to heaven for vengeance, like Illegal Immigration (which is nothing more than human trafficking), Sodomy, abortion, etc, its not surprising God has seen fit to allow a few of them to trickle up the ranks so that people can start to realize how *wrong* they are. If the last Pope didnt try to suppress the Latin Mass, I wonder if anyone would have even noticed it was falling out of usage? A body that ignores its infection will rapidly die of it because it wont fight back, but if the infection comes to the fore-front, the body may yet live because it fights back.
Conversely, if God didn't put them there, how are *any* popes legitimate?
My problem with Catholicism (and hierarchal religious institutions, generally) in a nutshell.
