Just off the phone with my Dad, explaining some health issues that could see me dead inside six months.

After a couple grunts and 1 “not sure what to tell you about that”, he spent the next fifteen minutes on sports, then 20 minutes on Trump and ICE Raids being immoral and unconstitutional.

He’s glad to see foreigners replace Whites but then spends thirty minutes blaming
“the American People” for letting bad things happen.

Love him but more out of a sadness of what he has become.

When I was a kid, my father wouldn't allow us to listen to black music or watch shows that featured a large black cast.

Now, he is the stereotypical leftist Boomer. Thinks white people are bad--we treated the blacks and native Americans really bad and stuff. Thinks the Nazis and Russians are the most evil people on the planet. Believes that all white people are lazy and don't deserve to have these jobs that are now filled by immigrants.

Essentially, he believes everything that he sees and hears from TV. He is a TV news junkie--MSNBC is on all day long.

That’s my Dad to a T. Barely maintained employment. Has zero involvement with his kids. Has literally spent the last 20 years watching TG for over 12 hours a day. He thinks it’s normal. I loathe him inside.

I find Boomers tend to racialize their own personal guilt. Doing so absolves them of personal responsibility by blaming their race, up to and past the point that they blame others for what they themselves are "guilty" of.

Robin DiAngelo's book "White Fragility" is an excellent example of this.
