Funny but there are loads of attached chimneys. Like the rows of many chimneys along the bakeries that made huge amounts of bread for the internees. There's just one building where they apparently used some advanced chimney design where it was unattached to the building.

And for whatever reason the USSR felt the need to put chimney on it when they "reconstructed" the camp.

A lot of the rooms were "reconstructed. Apparently even the way prisoners were run through the camp was reversed, since delousing was actually done first, the camp has those gas chambers in last.

I must say it was a really great plan by the Nazis to round up the people on the naughty list and then put them into a few concentrated locations so that Santa would bring the coal needed to alleviate their fuel shortages they were having.
