The death of Mediterranean (Roman) civilization resulted in the birth of European civilization. If the Roman Empire remained, there would've been no France, no British Empire, no Prussia, and no Spanish Empire, but North Africa, Anatolia, Albania and the Levant would all (probably) be Christian.
