"how can you CONSOOM as much CONTENT as you NEED to unless you are ACTIVELY ruining your attention span!"

The shit people say these days absolutely flabbergasts me. And this cocksucker is my age, but clearly is desperate to be seen as cool by zoomers & younger.

That is a shit way to watch or listen to anything. And while I know it's becoming more and more common, so are plenty of other similar things that are having devastating personal & societal side effects... with others still coming that can't be predicted because we are in uncharted waters as this anti-human relationship with technology proceeds.

"Listening to anything on 1x is insufferable to me." Oh, you mean like having a conversation? Fucking retard. It's funny that he act's like his time is so valuable yet spends a ton of it shitposting daily on someone else's platform (while his own decays and dies, but that doesn't stop his e begging).

Any alleged grown fucking man should be embarrassed to communicate a bumblefuck thought like this aloud.

you find your soul in the silence, in observing the world around you, and as you observe it, you find yourself in it, in the natural, unjudged state of things. to adapt your brain to only the fast moving feed of the internet will separate you from this sacred silence, and the ability to sit with yourself. God is in the silence.

I'm trying to rebuild my attention span, but some books are still heavy, ie the sea wolf by Jack London, so im starting with shitty spy novels my friend lent. And you're right- if you have to speed up a video to watch it, how will you have a conversation you can't speed up? I see this inability to converse with people my age ie zoomers, and i could have a better attention span too. Thanks for this reminder.

Very well said. I believe this as well, which is why I seek solace in nature & is where I feel closest to Christ. Most people want to give the perception that they are always busy (and this has been true for a very long time, a product of the mid 20th century) but the reality is most don't know how to use their time well or have the ability to focus anymore, specifically because of the frantic attitude that modernity encourages. I've found that being able to summon stillness leaves me able to accomplish whatever I set out to in whatever time I have. These are traits that used to be much more common & can still be regained when one sets out with the intention to do so.

And I think reading books is like anything else, you have to walk before you run so starting at a place with goals to built up to is a good foundation to set. When it comes down to it, reading is also a skill that can be honed with experience.

How do you 'summon stillness'? Did you have a regimen for rebuilding your attention span?
I hope you never let your solace be taken away by distractions, really boredom and emptiness is sacred.
