In european society (at least traditionally) its more laudable to be a doctor or something if you want to be a high earner. In Asian society, sports are practically a taboo for the average family, especially in Asian American families in particular. Plus, most of the Chinese immigrant families come from the south where people are a lot smaller and weaker. Almost everyone is from Guangdong, Fujian, or Guangxi. Not many people roll into America from Hebei, inner mongolia, or Shandong where people have builds like westerners.
