Christians practiced it for years. Look into the Shepherd's Crusade and Rhineland Pogroms. And while Pius was (almost certainly) subverted, other popes were based like Paul IV who created the first proper ghettos for the jews of Rome. Sadly, like Hitler, he didn't go far enough either.
