Except there was no "White European" identity prior to Christianity. Just a bunch of tribes worshiping Odin or Perun or whoever. And in the absence of the Roman Empire, they Christianized but retained some traditions (Easter, Yule). Even the rite of the Eucharist owes some of its function to the Mithraic and Eleusinian Mysteries.
