i went there as a white person steeped in the narrative, not too liberal, and not at all "conservative", but willing to hear points of view. it was over 30 years ago as an engineering grad student, before the www opened up alternative opinions to my awareness.
people often go there bc of the marxist reputation. and the faculty is already marxist, so it pushes impressionable students even further. but note not all students are aligned with that ideology. the "outliers" are silenced. ofc if you're a white person and get bullied on campus as a result, you'll get polarized. also note stem disciplines are generally not politicized nearly as much as soft disciplines.
a couple years ago there was a blockade of white people by thugs crossing the main campus gate.
the "bullying" i'm referring to is the general blame whitey mentality shared by marxists, both white and non-white. which also manifests in special privileges for non-whites such as scholarships, social clubs, etc.
