If you're not walking around armed, you better start.
I believe there's 3 companies now that make modestly priced 30rd .22 magnum pistols. Great for people who want accuracy and tons of ammo at the cost of a higher grain projectile.
There's also your standard Shields and compact 9mm options. Snub noses are also fantastic little carries.
But these .22 magnum pistols are really intriguing to me for a variety of reasons.
Really expensive for pretty much the same ballistics, but I get what you're saying. You want any advantage you can get in a split second scenario. 1% misfire could be your life.
> I wouldn't trust rimmed cartridges in a semiauto for self defense.
That was my thought before I started actually shooting the pistols chambered in .22WMR. Of the ones I've shot, I have not encountered a single misfire or jam. They shoot lasers and empty every mag I stick in them. But I also don't buy crap ammo and take religious care of firearms.
I like the profiles (slimmer than most 9mm) light weight, easy control, easy to put rounds on target, plentiful ammo, relatively cheap rounds, etc.
I love tgat baby. Its a custom build with a low profile magwell. From ZEV pyramid trigger etc. basically all internals have been replaced. Plus steiner front green laser light.
The smith and Wesson bodyguard is what you seek for deep concealment/pocket carry. Legitimately, it’s magical what it can do. High capacity, low recoil in a tiny package.
Awesome. I really think you’ll like it. I’m a big fan of pocket carry so I can transition through parking lots and gas stations with a full purchase and nobody knows.

Keep the 40 alive, I'll die on that hill.
