No. You wouldn't. Nobody would. Everyone is too terrified to do anything. If the government gave you money for shooting communists you still wouldn't do it unless it's some zog war in a far away land.
And it's not even for fear of reprisal or anything like that. It's because you simply do not want to do it. You have no actual will to act. Unless you're some vet with ptsd who still lives in fallujah in your mind, the chances are that you would not do anything under any circumstances.
Why? Because you exalt passivity as a virtue. You think tolerance and the marketplace of ideas is attainable. If you are wishing for the government to sanction what you "want" to do, it means that deep inside you still hold political violence to be evil, and if you were called upon to commit it, you would not do it. As a society, the overwhelming majority is completely unfamiliar with violence in any form whatsoever past maybe schoolyard bullying (if that, even). Even after Charlie kirk was shot, nobody did anything except grandstand on social media. It's been almost 2 months since it happened and everyone just fucking forgot about it. Nowadays, a nuclear war could be forgotten and memory holed within a year.
So, yes, you can grandstand again and play with wojaks on the internet, both sides can do it. But when push comes to shove... well, there won't even be a push or a shove. The only pushing is coming from the government you desperately await approval from to attack people with no political power whatsoever, there certainly won't be a shove because nobody ever does anything.

I work one. I've been working in blue collar and below jobs since I was about 14. The difference is, I have lost any faith whatsoever in any kind of spontaneous action by a group of people.
When was the last time something happened? When was the last time Americans took up arms over anything at all? The civil war? Maybe you can count the Harland County war, but those were evil dirty commies so it doesn't count I suppose.
The right cries foul and pretends that they'll do something. The left cries foul and pretends that *they'll* do something... and then nothing happens. Ever. It never does. How many abuses, real or imagined, can everyone take before they do the thing that they larp online about doing? It seems to be a near infinite number.
Nope, no new hitlers, lenins, mussolinis, George Washingtons, robespierres, whoever you want it to be around as far as I can see. Everyone is just willing to posture, to be taken from, and to enjoy bread and circuses. The working class won't kill, fight for, or even care about communists outside of whatever they say on twitter so long as they make enough money to pay for the TV that they watch football on.
And the government is the actual problem. Not communists. I'm sorry, but I'm not worried about a bunch of fucking redditors and college students. I don't care about them, I genuinely don't. They're a symptom of the issue. But they're not organized, they're not armed, and they're not a threat. I can't give less of a fuck about whatever they have to say. It's not 1930 anymore, and the soviet union isn't funneling weapons into real revolutionary movements anymore. Turn your rifles at the government. If you killed every legitimate marxist in the United states right now, nothing would change about your life at all. If you successfully revolted against the government, everything would be significantly better for everyone.
