There were 2 Iconoclasms in the Byzantine Empire (banning/destruction of religious Icons).

Both were stopped by women ruling as regent for their sons.

Empress Irene 787 AD, and Theodora 842 AD

Who cares that they were stopped by women, iconoclasm is retarded, did not exist before Islamic influence became a reasonable assumption as a reason for this to occur, and only existed for a brief period in the church. Clearly it was viewed as retarded enough that no man after Theodora ever reintroduced it. And it's been 1200 years now. Queens and empresses of old history can't be mixed up with common women then and especially not today because they came from bloodlines that were genetically better at leadership. Ie, an empress or queen would very much have a male-thinking brain and domineering personality because that's what they selected for over centuries, if we look at the history of absolutist female monarchs and regents this is very much apparent.

Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed.

Letting women have opinions on matters of the church, especially ones that are pivotal and controversial, is simply anti-biblical.

The decision to do this is anti biblical and heretical, and it was made up on a whim by both respective emperors both times it happened. If a woman having an opinion on the church is anti-biblical, then the desecration of churches and destruction of culture with 0 church approval or councils called, for entirely secular and paranoid reasons is extremely anti biblical. Caesaropapism itself is anti biblical.

There were other iconoclasts like Oliver cromwell who did roughly the same thing, but actually did it because of their interpretation of the Bible. In the case of the 2 byzantine emperors, it was just wanton destruction that blindsided the church and was caused by paranoia that God favored the Muslims and that He would grant victory to the byzantines for acting like the Muslims did. So instead of just sharpening their swords and training or doing anything else that a normal person would do, they just went absolutely apeshit over religious icons to try to call in a favor from God, and they proved that they were weak enough in their own faith that they had to emulate Muslims and what Muslims believed. Not what the church believed, but what the enemies of the church believed.

Irene and theodora both called councils to come up with an agreement on the issue of iconoclasm and received support from the leadership of the byzantine church as well as the pope.

Both empresses responded to the issue with much more nuance and with much more consideration to the thoughts of the actual church than either emperor did.

Both emperors were condemned by their respective popes (and at this point, the orthodox church was still under the papacy). The death date of iconoclasm is still a feast day in the orthodox church 1200 years later. It was not something that anyone in the church wanted.

Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

Pro Icons, because we don't worship them, we honor what they represent. Iconoclasm is proto-Islam and therefore gay, this is a rare woman W.

Retarded kike or Protestant post. There is no Church with a claim to be The Church that denies icons.

Is there any biblical support for icons?

Yes, eikōn. Icons and idols are different words. There is gigantic amount of support for icons. The iconoclasm discussion was finalized long ago. Just retarded kike JIDF shapeshifting Protestants, or butthurt Protestants since they have no apostolic claim pushes this retarded question.

God loves you and He wants you to come back to Him. I pray for you and and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to pray for my enemies. You can just make the choice and you will be my brother.

There aren't too many relevant verses in the NT, but there are some, mostly using the word eikōn to refer to Caesar on coins, etc.

Romans 1:22-23 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and change the glory of the uncorruptible God into an eikōn made like to corruptible man...", in Colossions 1:15 it refers to Jesus as the eikōn of God, Revelation uses this word a bunch too Rev 15:2 "them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his eikōn, and over his mark..." Rev 19:20 "upon them which worshipped his eikōn", etc.

There are however plenty of relevant verses in the LXX OT, for example in Genesis 1:26 and 1:27, it does use eikōn (G1504) in the sense of "made man in his own image".

But there are also plenty of negative verses. For example, Deuteronomy 4:16 "ye corrupt yourselves and make you a eikōn", 2 Kings 11:18 "into the house of ball and brake it down; his altars and his eikōn", 2 Chronicles 33:7 "and he set a glyptón (sculpture), the eikōn which he had made", Daniel 3:14 "do not yet serve my gods, nor worship the golden eikōn which I have set up?"

Am I missing something?

I just find it troubling to see our devout brothers venerating icons and kissing their feet as they enter church.

Protestants are hilarious. Since you like to reference Bible verses, how about Acts 8:30-31? You need explanations of what it means. Get an Orthodox study Bible. You are not supposed to make up your own interpretations. The Church can tell you since you are new, and not even in the Church. We have many holy saints, like Saint Chrysostom, which I kiss the hand of his icon, and ask him to pray for me, who has given us many clarifications how the Bible is supposed to be interpreted. The Orthodox Church wrote the Bible, we are the ones who can tell you what it means, not me though, I am too new to the faith and I refer you to the Orthodox Study Bible again, or visit your local Orthodox Church and speak to a priest. I kiss baby Jesus feet's every Saturday Vigilija and Sunday Liturgy, and I do it with love for my Lord and saviour, and I say to him "Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner."

You remind me of the video I got shown the other day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpPPjd30mPc

Yes, because God quite literally commanded the creation of Icons when He commanded the creation of the Ark and the Temple. Actually, if you go into any Catholic Church that hasnt been thoroughly defiled by modernism, you will see the exact same type of iconography that would have been present on the Ark and the Temple. The Ark was the pre-cursor for the tabernacle containing the Eucharist. No one was worshipping the Ark or the Cherubim's on it, they were worshipping God.
