Oh, I remember learning that myself, years ago. It’s just another insidious well poisoning effort to distract people from what he actually opposed. Insidious because it’s believable that the outcome would be the same, and because it’s so useful at hijacking preexisting mental biases (protection of jews at all costs) before they can be removed by historical truth.
