Black Africans have never and will never amount to anything of significance. They have, at most, been a failed accessory to the cotton gin.
But they were unable to do much with north africa because, well, the north Africans had organized states and actual armies. Before and after Arabization they were always 10,000 steps ahead of their southern neighbors. Even today, compare Tangier to Kinshasa or Mogadishu and tell me which one is better. Tangier is nice enough that my german ww2 veteran great grandfather lived there (long story) and continuously visited throughout his entire life. In Mogadishu there is nothing to do except die
