It's so stupid. My kid likes pokemon because he's a kid, but there's never any cards to open because degenerate gamblers and "investors" scalp everything to sell on ebay.
I looked into getting into the business. It's cutthroat, but one of those ugly slobs did show all his transactions at a card game trade show in Dallas. That bastard legit pulled in $175k at ONE event selling cards he got from about $3,000 of whatever the big boxes are called.
Yeah, he had to fly out to Dallas, he had to pay for hotel, meals, and booth space ... but he flipped $3,000 into $175k. I really want to try my hand at that business, but it's also a very volatile market. What's "hot" today is gone tomorrow, and he said that he constantly needs to be buying cards to keep his regular customers "hooked" or they'll start going to another seller. That means he's sometimes buying out other sellers just to hoard their stock as they see the market trending for particular cards.
In other words, your have to be a nerd for that shit and you have to be doing it every day, constantly reinvesting your profits, constantly "in tune" with what your "followers" want, what's trending in the market, etc. You have to "live that life," it's not a passive business.
