What kind of retarded take is this? The dog did nothing wrong, nothing deserving of discipline. He flipped out over his dog standing up from its bed. He shocked the dog for no reason. The dog yelped, which leads me to believe the intensity of the shock is more than the dog could handle (he’s apparently done this multiple times), though I have seen dogs yelp even when shock or vibrating collars are set very low. Either way, he reprimanded the dog for existing, basically.

Regardless of the animal, we treat them with love and kindness, even if their ultimate end is to supply us with food. Dogs are high up on a westerner's list of animals to protect at all costs. We bred them to work with and for us, and now they’ve become an integral party of many families as reliable companions. Animal cruelty of any kind is unacceptable.

You seem to be making a false dichotomy, as if we can’t house dogs *and* house the homeless. Those are two completely unrelated topics. You wanna take a hobo into your home and feed and clothe him?

Yeah, it's more that this is a person who is a monster, rather than needing to protect animals. It's even worse because his whole schtick is that he's some sort of moral paragon that people should listen to, and then he shocks his prop dog for stretching.
