Yes. It was. It was a horrid and inaccurate representation of what actually happened.
After the “parlay” where the crusaders abandoned the city, the saracens didn’t just let everyone leave. They let the knights ransom themselves. The rest were sold into slavery, including several thousand women, who Saladin watched at the slave markets get sold and brutally tortured and fang raped.

The Christians that were portrayed as zaney lunatics were 100% morally justified in their actions.
