This is disgusting.

Also, seitan vegan meat is cheap, easy and delicious to make without chemicals or preservatives. Takes about 60 seconds to make enough for a meal.

* Combine gluten flour, chickpea flour, water and seasoning (perhaps chicken seasoning or steak seasoning etc.). Substitute chickpea flour for pea protein powder if you want a keto very low carb version.

* Tear off a portion and bake it or fry it in olive oil.

You can also mash canned chickpeas or canned red beans instead of the chickpea flour or pea protein powder.

Also making a wetter mixture and pour it in a pan like pancakes to make thinner cutlets for schnitzels.

About 25g protein and 2 carbs per serving for the keto version.

Less water will make the result more dense.

More chickpea flour / pea protein / crushed or blended beans will make the result more tender.

More gluten flour will make the result more chewy. Kneading the dough will also promote gluten strands, making the result more stringy and chewy like real meat.

Can easily be crumbed like a schnitzel.

Freezes perfectly and reheats from frozen perfectly in the oven.

I make it for vegan friends when they come for dinner or occasionally when I haven't had a chance to visit the butcher.

Quick, easy, healthy and delicious.

Nothing to be scared of.

I just prefer to eat food that is representative of what it actually is. I'm not "scared" of anything. If I want vegetables, I'll eat them in a form where they are recognizable as such.

I also don't associate with people who wouldn't share a grill with me, but you do you I guess.

That's good for you and you make a good point : people should eat whatever they like with or without our permission or approval.

Many veterans, for example, are vegan because they suffer negative battlefield associations with the smell of cooked flesh.

It's not uncommon for Type 1 Diabetics who were born that way or had bad reactions to vaccinations, to become vegans because their formative years as infants were closely associated with blood, the taste and smell of blood and being hurt every few hours by their parents (blood tests and injections).

Some people live such healthy diets that they can no longer tolerate preservatives in restaurant or supermarket meat and instead hunt and freeze their own game. Most off-the-grid hunters experience this as what we consider to be "normal" grocery store food becomes inedible. These people occasionally rely on plant-based-proteins if their hunting season didn't produce enough meat.

What makes me laugh and makes me sad is how effective the cultural programming of the meat industry of the 1970s was when their adverts implied only real men eat meat. Since then, every coward with a tiny penis has been breathlessly bragging about how much meat he eats.

Personally, I'm a prepper and I love knowing about gluten flour and pea proteins that can be stored forever.

I also like trying new things and knowing how to cook for my vegan friends who also enjoy trying new things.
