Well, "based" - on the Internet, Orthobros are more based, in real life the Orthodoxy is basically just cultural and in real-life Orthodox priests are more soy and it's all about Russian politics. The question is more, is it true or not, which side was right.

Short version:

1. Orthodox don't like the pope, so they say the papacy is an invention
2. Orthodox say that the pope edited the Nicene Creed by adding the Filioque and therefore all Catholics go to hell
3. They also don't believe in purgatory, Marian dogmas and some other stuff

Basically Constantinople had lots of political power around the year 1000 and Rome didn't and so the Eastern Bishops thought the concept of a Roman pope was useless and stopped praying for him. Then 40 years later they got excommunicated, although the split wasn't a massive difference at first, with both sides joining against Islam later on.

Then Constantinople (now Istanbul) got sacked by Islamist forces and their center of influence moved to Moscow. 50+ % of Eastern Orthodox belong to the Russian Orthodox Church, so the politics are heavily skewed towards whatever Russia does.

In 1439 there was the Council of Florence where they even resolved their differences (under pressure from the rise of Ottomans), their anti-Western population revolted against the Eastern bishops as "sellouts" when they came home. They accused the pope of not helping them defend Constantinople in 1204, despite the fact that the pope never ordered that. Anyway, ever since then they've been pulling the "West has fallen" propaganda. So, despite the fact that they basically agreed to everything with the Catholics in 1439, they later renounced everything and declared Catholics as heretics.

Both have been heavily infiltrated by freemasons since about the 1910s, which later made the whole "ecumenical prayer" from Assisi 1983 possible, which is heretical from both the Catholic and Orthodox perspective (praying together with people considered schismatic, doesn't matter which side you're on).

The modern "Catholic" Church is kiked since Vatican II, the modern "Orthodox" Church is kiked since about the 1930s. The only Orthodox I respect are [HOTCA](https://www.hotca.org/), because they openly expose the freemasonry in mainstream Orthodoxy. I'm Catholic (traditional, not the gay boomer Novus Ordo type), but I can respect honest Orthodox.

https://www.churchfathers.org/ is a good introduction on the Church Fathers (Orthodox reject certain Church Fathers) and [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y1cABhLc2o) is a good YT documentary on what happened in the 60s to the Catholic Church. For based content I'd recommend [Bishop Williamson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyMCWXaVieY), he was very based (RIP).

If you're interested, I can DM you links on where to go, obviously I can't really post these links in the open.
