Why are people who spell 'people' as 'ppl' almost always the most intolerable people online?

At least it's still a word in common parlance, just spelled in a niggardly way. The use of 'folx' is especially retarded... and I'm noticing my browser isn't flagging it as being misspelled... goddamnit it's in the goddamn dictionary, denoting 'marginalized groups'.
