I think they vastly underestimated the true evil of the race traitor Churchill. Again, they had no reason to distrust "their" governance and anyone who did was dismissed, understandably, as a fringe lunatic.

It started well before Churchill, Britain has been the breeding ground for Judaizing heresies since Henry VIII decided to mass murder Christians and start a a cult to justify his adultery.

Also *inviting in* the Rothschild family from Netherlands, getting into debt and jewed by them, then instead of hanging them and seizing their assets they handed them control over the royal bank.
