This was said to be Hitler's favorite dessert, created by him (I think) and was said to be a hit at parties:

**Führer Kuchen**

2 cups white sugar

1/2 pound butter

3 eggs

3 cups flour

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup chopped walnuts

3 cups sliced Macintosh apples

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour one 10 inch tube pan.

Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Set aside. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to wet ingredients and mix well. Stir in vanilla, walnuts, and apples. Mix well and pour into prepared pan.

Bake just under 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

From my wife who tried making this:

"This recipe is AI slop and produces cookie dough and not cake batter because there are not enough liquids. Also the apples should be chopped not sliced."

She was able to save it by adding milk and another egg and it turned out great! 8/8 would bake again

To be fair, it’s really fucking dense. It’s a way older *style* of recipe than modern cakes, and so it is supposed to be. How much milk did she add? I’ll try it that way myself sometime.

I like your username.

> This recipe is AI slop

Well your wife is wrong on that in particular. I *highly* doubt that u/TallestSkil of all people would rely on an LLM (What "AI" actually is) to discover such a recipe or make such a mistake.

The cake is *supposed* to be incredibly dense, as that was how the Germans (And Hitler in particular) liked it, from my understanding.

It's good that she was able to tweak it. That's the best thing about recipes - you can adjust them to your liking. Hopefully she used raw milk.
