Any parent who cared about their children wouldn't allow this.
The government has convinced parents that their children are better off in a government controlled "education" program.
Being lazy or retarded they accept this... and the cycle continues.
You will NEVER be able to trust the government to education your children for you. Why would you even want this? We have the internet. You can better educate your children at home.
The current system only ever made partial sense when horses and buggies were the way to get around. We're way past that now.
It only ever made sense if kids were going right into the army. I'd be down for that, so long as they split the cohorts into officer/enlisted streams by about 12.
