Conpro, what are your greatest successes lately with Anticonsumerism? How have you avoided CONSOOMING lately?

I've been learning new meals to cook, and we've reduced our spending on eating out to basically nothing. What about you?

I've recently managed to convince my rhinoceros of a mother (who is also a boomer) to forgo sugar and carbs all together

Basically start a Keto diet

As for myself... I only eat what i cook and buy things separately

Farmers market for fruits N Veg

Butcher shop for meat

And toiletries and cleaning supplies from the cheapest Pharmakia brand i can find

i don't go the supermarket because 99% of the "food" there is goyslop and i don't want to be tempted by said goyslop (its also expensive and they all hire shitskins)

Its best to buy only the bare essentials and learn (or rather re-learn) to live simply like our ancestors did

I do however shop for seasonings at seasonings & baking supply shops, because the quality is much better there and buisness owners are White and independent (not chains, middle class owners)

That's incredible! I still have to shop and the grocery store, but at the very least, it's a local chain.

A farmer's market would be a step up in quality.

I had a Windows computer that just decided on its own to upload all of my documents to OneDrive, including sensitive information related to my job which by all counts should be illegal. So now I'm off of Windows forever.

The 3g networks in my area are being shut down at the end of the year, which means my flip phone will stop functioning. I'm getting a landline for calls and I'm done with mobile phones now.

They keep making technology hell to use, and slowly but surely I'm getting rid of it all.

OneDrive is cancerous. I'm convinced it exists just to upload all your documents, then tell people it's "out of space" so they shell out for a subscription. That, and skimming through all your files with AI. You're better off without it.

First thing I do with a windows install is debloating and removing all the tracking/telemetry shit. Unfortunately there are programs I use for work that only run on Windows, otherwise I'd have entirely switched to Linux by now.

Never buy anything from inside a gas station. You don’t need it.

That's what their sink is for. Then you go fix your car and buy the right antifreeze, drain and refill.

I just processed a deep freezer's worth of apples from my neighbour's tree. Gonna perfect my pastry skills over the winter.

u/WeedleTLiar I got tired of waiting on you to respond, so I'm just gonna recommend it to you *anyway*. This was said to be Hitler's favorite dessert, created by him (I think) and was said to be a hit at parties:

**Führer Kuchen**

2 cups white sugar

1/2 pound butter

3 eggs

3 cups flour

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup chopped walnuts

3 cups sliced Macintosh apples

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour one 10 inch tube pan.

Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Set aside. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to wet ingredients and mix well. Stir in vanilla, walnuts, and apples. Mix well and pour into prepared pan.

Bake just under 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Thanks to u/TallestSkil for finding this recipe.

I bought a cooler to pack lunch in, rather than buying shitty premade and fast food.

I've been experimenting with OMAD using only shelf stable ingredients (because no fridge.) I throw in a cup of rice, some canned meat, dehydrated veggies, bouillon, honey, nut butter, cheese powder, spices... Cook it in my 12v oven for 2-4 hours. Pretty tasty and it does the trick for balanced nutrition. Cheap as fuck, probably amounts to a few bucks per entire day's calories. I used to also put in a can of beans or scoop of lentils, but that much fiber in one meal was *destroying* my gut.
