My reaction when I got fired for having moderate ideas in 2020:

"Oh well, I guess it's time to raise cows."

Their reaction when anyone notices anything they do and they suffer even slight consequences for it:

"Oh no my universe is crumbling and I have nowhere to go!"

Even if I wanted to help this guy, he's so far removed from reality that the truth would just crush his soul.
