That’s why high IQs have only ever evolved in cold climates. Do you have any notion of how much firewood you need to survive a winter in Alaska? You have to spend the whole summer chopping wood, or you die. If your IQ is too low to plan for the future, you die.

Not so in sub Saharan Africa. A leaky roof won’t kill you. There’s no need to evolve.
