The Associated Press is one of a small number of what's called 'primary sources'. In practice that means when you see news articles almost all of them have acquired the story from them or Reuters. These primary sources also provide 'style guides' (language policing) which most publications adhere to, hence the almost overnight spread of the uppercase black and lower case white phenomenon 5 years ago.

I'll be honest, this angers me more than most things. They know exactly what they are doing. I despise my White brethren in this organization that allowed this. If there is ever a point in time where we are all segregated for safety, we should find any of these White people who betrayed their race, string them up and disembowel them.
