That's one piece of it, yes.

I think this act is broadly in reaction to the growing anti-Israel sentiment on the Right and the growing disaffection from MAGA towards their god emperor, specifically.

Kirk was never really aimed at young people. Most of his fans are older Millenials and Boomers looking down their noses at the state of the youth today. The far Right youth are following meme accounts; watch those for signs of Israeli influence as well.

Shapiro is going to keep the voting-old in line for the mid-terms. Israel clearly isn't done with their operation in Gaza so they aren't ready for the script flip yet either. They need the Republicans to ostensibly be in power so the Democrats can later say "we didn't do it" and keep the Leftist Boomers in line.

I'm a zoomer (albeit an elder one, a zillennial if you will), but you'd be surprised that a majority of this generation still believes in what people like Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro say, or their center left Democrat counterparts.

The far left and the far right are both growing with gen z. But the core of the generation is still overwhelmingly and nauseatingly moderate.

Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

It was their way of telling the right to stay in your lane, continue to love Israel, ask no questions.
