I remember when they opened the .win network and said if you ever have to log-in again it’s a sign the site got compromised, and how when they changed the domain you had to log in again.

Your login state is stored in a cookie, and cookies cannot be accessed cross-domain - if they changed domain there would be no way around that.

Access and refresh tokens also have an expiration date. You would be asked to sign in again eventually.

They don't have to. Developer can have the token live for like 100 years if they wanted to.
