been saying it for a long time... october 7 wasn't just out of nowhere. israel passed a "basic law" (their closest equivalent of a constitutional right) to instate apartheid in 2018, with non-jews legally having fewer rights. they actively removed every judge who might rule against it, and then their supreme court upheld it in 2021. judges who were resisting were then removed. at first they started deportations with the criminals and visa overstays. then they moved to people whose families had been on that land since long before israel was even a country in both gaza and the west bank. for most september 2023, a month before the attack, there were massive protests against all of this. as more and more people from gaza were ripped from their homes for deportation, hamas counter-attacked on october 7.
this isn't even some conspiracy theory... even amnesty international called them out on it https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/09/defending-the-rule-of-law-enforcing-apartheid-the-double-life-of-israels-judiciary/
now i'm not supporting hamas either here. i think both sides fucked up. deliberately targeting and murdering children is a war crime. but we can't keep acting like israel is an ally or even innocent.
